How the Association works for Members

The Association takes up issues when a member has exhausted all 'legal' channels in an attempt at a resolution. Relevant paperwork (letters, copies of emails, etc) is handed to the Association and put onto the agenda for the next meeting of the Executive Committee (Ex Co).

Ex Co meets at least once a month and members who would like to raise their questions or concerns directly are welcome to attend a meeting and put their 'case' forward together with supporting documents. The Secretary, Eric Ahrens, must be advised in good time, though, to ensure that the item is noted on the agenda.

After proper scrutiny of the facts ExCo will either raise the matter directly with the municipal official concerned or enter it along with a recommendation in the monthly Ward 2 Sector Report to be dealt with at the monthly Ward 2 meeting.

Issues raised here are then officially logged and will remain on the Ward 2 agenda until a resolution is reached. Members are welcome to attend these meetings to get a better understanding of the issues currently being dealt with  by the municipality.

Ex Co also takes up issues in the interest of the broader community whenever it sees or hears of a need. But most importantly residents and ratepayers of Prince Albert should keep themselves up to date with the relevant services, by-laws, etc available to the public.

It is also good to attend the monthly council meeting that is open to the public. Not only does this offer a chance to see how municipal affairs are run but it also gives you an ideal opportunity to see what your particular councillor/political party is doing to earn your vote.

Documents that are made public from time to time will be available for download on this site for your interest.
